Semiya Upma

S.Upma (1)

Ingredients:

Roasted Semiya / Vermicelli – 1 1/2 cups

Mixed Veggies – 1 cup (Carrot, beans, potato, peas)

Onion – 1

Green Chilli – 3 or 4

Curry leaves – 2 strings

Coriander (chopped) – 1 tbs

Oil – 1/2 tbs

Ghee – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

Channa Dhal – 1 tsp

Urad dhal – ½ tsp

Salt – to taste

Method:

Slice onion. Chop the vegetables and split green chilli.

Heat oil and ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when it pops out add channa dhal, urad dhal, green chily and curry leaves.

Add onion. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add the vegetables and sauté for 3-5 minutes. Add salt.

Add 3 cups of water.

When it starts boiling add coriander leaves, vermicelli / semiya and mix well.

Cover the lid and cook on the medium heat, stirring in between.

Once done turn off the heat and serve.
