Methi Paneer Recipe

I bought Paneer a week ago, thought of preparing Palak Paneer. But I could not get fresh palak and I got bored with paneer parata. So decided to prepare something else. While going through Sailu’s blog I saw this recipe, which looked great and I replaced chicken with paneer.
I did not get the color which her picture has 😦 but, I swear it tasted awesome 🙂 The flavor of methi made the recipe a finger licking good. I liked it very much.
Methi Paneer (9)
Ingredients:

Paneer – 200 gms

Methi leaves – 1/2 cup (tightly packed)

Onion (medium) – 2

Tomato Puree – 1/4 cup

Curd – 3 tbs

Green chilli paste – 1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Jeera (cumin) Powder – 1/2 tsp

Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp

Cashew nut Paste – 2 tbs

Salt – to taste

oil – as required

Method:

Cut onion and saute it in little oil till it turns brown.

Heat 1 tsp of oil and fry the methi leaves for 3-4 minutes in medium flame.

In both the above process make sure that you don’t over cook.

Cut the paneer into desired shape and keep aside.

Grind the onion and in the last round of grinding add the curd.

Heat oil in a vessel. Add ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add Onion and curd mix; cook for 2 -3 minutes. Add tomato puree; cook for 2 minutes.

Add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes.

Add paneer cubes, methi and mix gently.

Add cashew nut paste, garam masala powder, salt and 1/4 cup of water (adjust).

Combine well and cook till you get the desired consistency.

Serve hot with chapatis / rotis.
