Shopping and Murugan Idly Kadai

Published March 26, 2014 by Bingo's Mom

We were out in the evening for shopping. We bought very few items but spent 4 hours. I sent Bingo home in between with my sister. Once we’re done with our shopping, we were so exhausted and decided to finish our dinner in some nearby restaurant. We found the famous Murugan Idly Kadai and we settled ourselves there with our bags.

I planned to have only idly but later ended up having kuzhi paniyaram, onion uthappam and ghee rava dosai. The waiters are not from South India and they have limited knowledge on Tamil (I wonder why the management is allowing them to serve Tamil speaking customers but, it was totally fun talking to them. I was giggling throughout my meal).

My paati wanted hot water to drink. Waiter was serving paniyarams.

BMP – Sudu thanni kudunga.

Waiter – Sooda than irikki ma.

BM – Bhaiya, garam pani chahiye.

Waiter – ok ok

BM’s Mother – Rava dosai irukka?

Waiter – dosai? irikki. enna dosai?

BMM – Rava dosai.

Waiter – onion dosai? (I guess he meant onion rava dosai)

BMM – Illa… illa. Rava … Ravaaa…. Rava dosai.

Waiter – ok ok

BM to BMM – oru ‘rava’ dosaiku ungala ippadi ‘lava lava’ nu katha vachittangale?

BMM – Konjam thanni kudunga.

Waiter (called out for other person and shouted) – ‘garam pani….. in logon keliye’

BMM – enna paapa solran?

BM – Family mothamum sudu thanni family nu solran.
