100 Happy Things – Day 2 (Festivals)

Published March 31, 2014 by Bingo's Mom

Happy Ugadi to you all.

I love love festivals.

I can’t imagine any festival without my family members. I never missed any festival at home. My favorite festival is pongal. I have beautiful memories of this festival from my child hood. Till I got married I have celebrated pongal with atleast 20 people. Though I have celebrated in my grandparent’s village I had many relatives visiting us for pongal.

After marriage it’s with my husband and in-laws; kind of ‘city pongal’ with lots of happiness, ofcourse. My MIL is having 3 elder sisters, so in a way I have 4 in-laws and I have shared my festival times with them too.

Today we have celebrated Ugadi. Recently I developed this habit of asking my MIL to follow the original procedures, which our grandmothers used to do, for any festival.

I feel content at the end of the day once we settle, after our dinner, and discuss about the day we spent in celebrating the festival. We just had a chat session and my in-laws settled for their daily soap, Bingo off to bed and I am here, sharing my thoughts about festivals to you. I am sure I am going to have a goodnight sleep today. 🙂

ETA – It got published before I complete the draft 😦 I am typing this from mobile as I could not access internet now. Will add contents later. Sorry, sorry and big sorry readers 😦

100 Happy Things – Day 1 (Music)

Published March 30, 2014 by Bingo's Mom

I think I don’t have much to explain about music. I have not seen any people who doesn’t like music. Though my music knowledge is restricted to movies, I never regretted for that. I love lyricists as much as I love musicians. I know hundreds of awesome songs and I listen to them again and again as if I am listening them for the first time.

I am not accepting the fact that recent songs are not good compared to old songs. When people compare recent songs with old songs now, they used to compare songs before and after 2000. Comparing 50 years songs with 13.5 years songs itself is an injustice.

Hats off to Maya for doing 100 happy songs; and when I talk about happy songs, I remember there is separate fan club for pathos song as well. I somehow not a big fan of kuthu song though I enjoy them at the moment.

I am going to post the lyrics instead of video, here. I know; when I write about music I should post video but, I bet you cannot ‘read’ the lyrics 🙂

I was planning to do 100 happy days when I saw about it in Tharani’s blog but, somehow I didn’t do. Later Maya started doing 100 Happy Songs which is awesome. I neither can do 100 happy days nor 100 happy songs but, why not 100 happy things?? Ok, I am going to do 100 happy things post which may include song, food, about some people etc. So from tomorrow onwards I am starting this and I hope I will complete it without any break.

Madras Times

Published March 27, 2014 by Bingo's Mom

I love love this city but, my view might change once I reach Hyderabad. I know, I have love hate relationship with Madras. I love this city for the warmth it has. I can get whatever I want; I can feel home where ever I go in the city; I can bring smile on auto drivers by calling them ‘anna’ or ‘boss’; I can eat whatever I want to eat at any time of the day; I can befriend with strangers in a queue, mall, bus etc; I can get news update from auto drivers; hmmm…. ok, let me stop here. I don’t know how to put my feelings in words. Only one thing which I don’t like is the weather. Sigh.

I remember this post from MiM. It reflects my thoughts.
